Altitude Cycling team members and Adventure Cycling customers, please visit our "Contact Us" page and request information on special programs
The Altitude Cycling Junior (racing age 10-18) program is designed to introduce young talent into the world of competitive or recreational cycling and mentor them in the physical and mental aspects of the sport of cycling through coaching and mentoring by experienced, masters level racers. The idea is to build a strong foundation that will carry through into their adult lives. What I aim for is several years away. I want the young athlete to enjoy his or her cycling journey so much so that they still want to be training and racing when they are in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and beyond.. (I’m a “beyond” myself). The Juniors program is a fully coached and supported program directed by Coaching Director and Team Director Marty Albe. The main purpose of this is to bring consistency into the young athletes journey into competitive cycling.

The Altitude Cycling U21 (racing age 19-21) team consists of racers that have typically come up through the Junior ranks and present excellent roll models within the Junior athletes generation. They are expected to strive to be mentors for not only our Juniors, but ambassadors for the sport of cycling. The U21 athlete is encouraged to continue with the coaching program within Altitude Cycling. If the U21 athlete chooses to continue with Altitude Cycling's coaching program, the cost will remain the same as is with the Juniors program for that year although it is not required.

Altitude Cycling Junior and U21 racers are required to race a minimum of 12 ACA/BRAC or USAC races per season to include 2 ACA/BRAC and/or USAC championship races as well as donate a minimum of 10 hours per season to designated charitable projects. We will, as a ACA/BRAC and USAC sanctioned team, be expected to promote, or co-promote at least one BRAC event each year and team members and/or family will be asked to help fulfill this minimal obligation.

The services outlined for the Gold and Silver Plans apply as presented in the “Services and Pricing” page with a special focus on the specific needs of a younger athletes needs and time allocations. Priority is always the focus on school and family FIRST.. Parents or Guardians are Cc’d on all correspondence for athletes under 18 years of age and are always a welcome participant in any activity presented to their young athlete by Altitude Cycling and/or Altitude Cycling Sports.

The racing season will be considered March through the end of September. The “off” season (there really is no “off” season) is considered October through the end of February (of the following year).

Full race support and team race planning by Altitude Cycling Sports LLC will be provided to Gold and Silver Plan members at several of the omniums and stage races in Colorado and Wyoming as well as several other single day events. In 2012, Altitude Cycling provided race/team support for over 35 individual race day events as well as several bike handling skills clinics and countless group and team rides and practice sessions. Altitude Cycling Coaching Director Marty Albe was also the primary skills instructor for the 3 day Colorado Juniors Road Camp and the 3 Day Colorado Juniors Cross camp.

Racing Season (March-Sept {7 months}):
  • (U21/JR) Gold Plan: $525.00 for the 7 month race season (prorated based on month joined)
  • (U21/JR) Silver Plan: $455.00 for the 7 month race season (prorated based on month joined)
  • The cost of the jersey and BRAC license (included in the Juniors program) cannot be prorated and will be calculated as an addition into the prorated monthly cost.

“Off” Season (Oct- Feb {5 months}):
  • (U21/JR) Gold Plan: $200.00 for the 5 month "off" season (prorated based on month joined)
  • (U21/JR) Silver Plan: $175.00 for the 5 month "off" season (prorated based on month joined)
  • *(JR 10-14) Juniors Base Plan*: $135.00 for the 5 month "off" season
*(JR 10-14) Juniors Base Plan*: This plan is designed specifically for Juniors, ages 10-14. The athlete is supplied with a monthly goals and activities program aimed at keeping them active in the sport, but not overwhelming them with workouts designed for older Junior athletes (ages 15-18). This plan includes 2 monthly team practices/workouts (these will be scheduled typically for Saturdays during the school year). Your Junior 10-14 athlete may still sign up for the Silver or Gold plan for the off season, but this Juniors Base Plan gives you a more basic option.
  • The cost of the jersey and BRAC license (included in the Juniors program) cannot be prorated and will be calculated as an addition into the prorated monthly cost.

All payments are due no later than the 5th of the month the program period begins. CompuTrainer,  evaluation and interview fee is due at the time of the service.

In addition to the services provided within the Gold and Silver plans, "Race Season" plans for new racers include no initial fees for set-up, ACA/BRAC licence (you will need to purchase a USAC licence) a team jersey and a free TrainingPeaks account for your workout schedule. We will ask that you agree to the race and donated time minimums required in writing.

Initial phone consultation is free. The in studio initial evaluation, interview, and CompuTrainer testing is $45.00 unless you choose to join the Altitude Cycling racing team, in which case the in studio initial evaluation, interview and CompuTrainer testing is $25.00.
